Victor Desplats, MD.

Dr. Victor Desplats obtained his medical degree from Université Paris Cité, where hecompleted his foundational and advanced training in medical sciences before ranking in thenational medical residency examination in 2017 in Paris. He subsequently pursued a residencyin Hepato-Gastroenterology within Assistance Publique–Hôpitaux de Paris, which hecompleted in 2023. Alongside his clinical training, he earned a Master’s degree inImmunology and Immunopathology from Université Paris Cité and Sorbonne Université in2022. Since October 2025, he has been undertaking a PhD in Epidemiology and Public Healthwithin the Nutritional Epidemiology Research Team (EREN) at the Centre for Research inEpidemiology and Statistics (CRESS).

Dr. Desplats has held several clinical positions, including Assistant Specialist and ContractPractitioner at the Centre Hospitalier Intercommunal Poissy–Saint-Germain-en-Laye, wherehe was responsible for hepatology activities, and currently works as a specialist physician inclinical practice. His research focuses on liver diseases, particularly hepatic encephalopathyand ammonia metabolism, with publications in leading journals such as Hepatology andAnalytical Biochemistry. In parallel with his clinical and academic work, Dr. Desplats hasbeen actively involved in medical advocacy and leadership, serving as President and GeneralSecretary of the Paris Hospitals Interns Union. His work reflects a strong commitment toadvancing clinical research and improving patient care in Hepatology.
